Shefik is currently a Drupal Developer at Penton Media, where he is developing content management systems for the diversified business-to-business media company. Founded in 1892, Penton Media is a mass media corporation that publishes and produces 113 magazines, 96 trade shows, 145 websites, and has over six million subscribers across 17 different market segments.
Most recently, Shefik was a Software Engineer at CNBC, where he developed content management systems for the television network.
Shefik was also a Web Developer at Columbia Law School, where he developed projects for both external and internal use for the Ivy League university.
Furthermore, Shefik was a Web Developer at Condé Nast Digital, where he developed projects for their premiere online brands GQ, Vanity Fair, Wired, Epicurious and Concierge; as well as their advertising clients Chase Sapphire, Continental Airlines, Buick, Smirnoff, Stacy's Pita Chips and Valspar Paint and Coatings.
Prior to that position, Shefik was Technical Producer at TIME magazine and its site TIME.com.
Additionally, Shefik conducted contract-based work at companies, such as The Wall Street Journal, Vimeo, Coca-Cola Enterprises, FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Bear Stearns, Publicis Modem, Posner Advertising and JOOR.
After leading and aiding in national publicity campaigns for a multitude of multi-platinum recording artists and record company executives, such as Dionne Warwick, The Isley Brothers, Nona Hendryx, Dru Hill, and Luke, Shefik established his New York-based entertainment company, Knight Entities, Inc., in 1997.
A mere two years later, Shefik was inducted into the 1999 edition of International Who's Who of Entrepreneurs, which reached a worldwide audience in an endeavor to recognize highly accomplished executives and professionals for their outstanding professional and civic achievements.
